Elisa isn't your regular nerd.  She's not the kind of person who quotes Monty Python, or has a periodic table tattooed on her butt.  No she's a different sort altogether.  She carries a duct-taped Bible everywhere, wears bright-orange polyester pants, and dyes her hair with red kool-aid.
Even though she tries slipping by apart from the crowds, it doesn't help that her best friend happens to be "The Boarder," one of the cutest and most popular boys in school.  He's not willing to let her go unnoticed—not until she goes to the homecoming dance with another guy.
"The Boarder" starts acting weird after the date goes well, and Elisa begins wondering if he's only been looking at her as a friend or maybe something more.  She must choose between her best friend and "The Bad Boy," but will she make the right choice?

  2. Lesson to learn here? don't judge a book by it's cover eh? lol People that tear people up over stupid crap drive me nuts. You are a better person than I am. Well we all know that already so it's pretty redundant of me to say so. lol

  3. I love retro-styles and very partial to colors from the 70's (my stove is advocado green!) Remind me to post some of my big hair pics from the 80's.

  4. Hehe your enthusiasm in an awkward situation is way too familiar! Especially hitting the girl on the back, I have a terrible habit of play punching people in the arm when I'm nervous, it's not great when you barely know them...the good thing is I've never had anyone dislike me for being overly friendly or at least I haven't noticed...still it's difficult to be aware of everything when you're bouncing around the room like a bumblebee on speed...

At college I was really good friends with the goths and emos of my time, most of them were the loveliest people in the world (of course you had the weirdos but everywhere does) but the reactions they got from others was shocking, a massive popular rugby guy once told me that he was scared of going into 'the basement' where they hung out in case they would beat him up, he didn't know what to do when I started pissing myself laughing but it's so ridiculous how people judge on first impressions! I mean we are all guilty of it but oh we are a silly bunch of creatures!

  5. Isn't it funny how worried we can be about what other people think when we are young and how little we give a damn when we are older? LOL, maybe thats just me. Anyways, you have me on the edge of the "what happens next" chair, as usual.

  7. So..... I have never taken more than a day to read a book. This novel you are writing here on your blog is driving me absolutely nuts! I want to read the entire story, and can't wait til each day tells a bit more. Actually, I lied when I said I never took more than a day to read a book. It took me two and a half days to read the longest of the Harry Potter books, and the Twilight series took I think two days as well. But, for the most part, I once I start reading, I don't put the book down til it is done. Seriously, I am wanting more........
