The Doctor (Entry 29)

This post has been removed for the novel's debut in April, 2012 . . .

Elisa isn't your regular nerd.  She's not the kind of person who quotes Monty Python, or has a periodic table tattooed on her butt.  No she's a different sort altogether.  She carries a duct-taped Bible everywhere, wears bright-orange polyester pants, and dyes her hair with red kool-aid.
Even though she tries slipping by apart from the crowds, it doesn't help that her best friend happens to be "The Boarder," one of the cutest and most popular boys in school.  He's not willing to let her go unnoticed—not until she goes to the homecoming dance with another guy.
"The Boarder" starts acting weird after the date goes well, and Elisa begins wondering if he's only been looking at her as a friend or maybe something more.  She must choose between her best friend and "The Bad Boy," but will she make the right choice?

  1. Good morning!
Glad you liked Sandra's blog. Good stuff.
So, I read your posts and keep wondering if you're living in a time warp! And I wanted to scream, "Talk to your mom!" at the end of this post.

  2. It's crazy how long I didn't talk to her about things (years). I think I learned the woman-code a bit too early LOL! She didn't get my code, but I doubt anyone else did either. I hope my kids won't be crazy teens like I was.

  6. Jees O Pete, girl, what did you do to your momma? I know how it is though - as honest as I could be with my mother, I have never been able to talk to my "Perfect" MIL. She is the one that will never know what is really going on in our lives. She is just too perfect.

  7. My mom never put me on BC...My DAD did! My dad is such a horny toad that he was afraid I'd turn out like him! I was on BC before I was out of High School!

  8. Heather-
I know it LOL! My poor mom.

    Alicia-
I thought it was bad enough that my mom took me; I can't imagine if my dad would have taken me.

  9. Lord help your mother. :)

I told my oldest about sex (he's 10). He thinks it's gross and he's NEVER doing that.

    He's adopting instead.

  10. Wow, your parents are sure forward. Mine are the type to ignore the elephant sitting in the room.

  11. Well I think you were lucky. If my parents had bothered to get involved with what was going on in my life maybe I would have ended up not getting pregnant and going through the things I had to. Although today I am very happy with the way things turned out in the end. We never really can guess the future can we? All we can do is hope to have people who care around us.
