We went to Primary Children's

The Hippie got a fever and wouldn't stop throwing up. She complained of more stomach pains, so we went to Primary Children's. We were there until midnight last night. Anyway, they think she either has an ulcer or Celiac Disease (gluten intolerance). Everything else looks great--which is so good. We're exhausted, but I feel better knowing what's going on. Poor kid. She's been in so much pain on and off for a long time and the docs just kept saying it was the flu. We're going back in today. Wish us luck.

  1. My cousin just got discharged from the Navy because of Celiac. At least it's something treatable. Sending you all well-wishes.

  3. Hope all gets better soon, at least you know what it is. My uncle had celiac disease as well, not overly hard to control once they learn what it is, just have to watch the gluten, 9th grade I had such pain as well, things stuck every which way and they found out it was chocolate doing it too me, pfft buggers.

  5. If it's gluten intolerance, you just have to learn to eat a whole different way. Our doctor's wife was diagnosed with that and she now teaches classes on cooking gluten free. Hopefully things will be looking up and she'll be feeling better soon! I know it was hard going back to that hospital.

I know you are stressed out but if you don't get any rest you can't take care of them so AGAIN I'm offering my help here. Anything you need. We are praying and so is my moms church and our other friends.

  9. Thanks for the update! At least you have a better idea now of what's going on with her. And whatever it is is something treatable. I hope it's an ulcer since those go away with treatment (right?) although if it's Celiac disease I'm sure you'll all adjust :)

  10. Keep us informed, please. I've been so worried I've wanted to call you every five minutes, but I figured you had other things to do.

  12. Oh good! Not knowing what is wrong is always the worst. I didn't mean oh good she's got a possible ulcer but I think you know what I meant.

  13. Thanks for the update. I was kind of thinking some kind of allergy. . . that's why I said "wheat". I guess I was thinking gluten, which covers more than wheat. But, there are loads and loads of books and websites out there dedicated to gluten-free lifestyle. Still praying for you guys. Hope she gets comfortable soon!

  14. I am very glad you took her in. I was hoping that you would. I hope it is an ulcer because celiac is such a hard disease to live with.
