Soooo...when we passed some sprinklers that were running on Main Street, I made my four kids get out and run through them with me!
We got soaked!
But they'll never forget it!
Then when we saw an abandoned shopping cart last night, we made this video. I'm either the craziest mom, or the silliest. But there's one thing that's certain: I LOVE these kids, and somehow we're going to make it through this divorce.
P.S.One of my best friend's books was published today. It's better than Percy Jackson--honestly. If you're interested, click on this cover and go check out the awesome reviews.
But all those clips I just viewed with you and your hubby?....
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's sad. We were a good match most of the time.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry miss.....I loved the exchanges, especially the carpentry hand signaling clip....You know there's this great big God in the sky?.... Just saying/....oh yes the wonderful instrumentation, child like sprawl, and strong vocals; and all while properly intoxicated!.... nevertheless, may heaven above join in on you and your childrens wild free sprinting ways while you try to heal....
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry to hear this. One of the books that helped me the most was Helping Children Survive Divorce by Dr. Archibald Hart. Good for you, for keeping the mood positive. You and your kids will make it through. Please feel free to message me if you want; and if you haven't read my blog for single moms, you might find something helpful there, too. Hugs,

You have such a positive attitude--I have NO doubt all of you will be FINE!!
ReplyDeleteSome parents are overly safety concious where there kids are concerned, it's good to see that people like yourself can keep things in perspective.
ReplyDeletehahaha loved it, way to be, just make new memories and have fun
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you a going through a divorce, you two seem so good together. Divorce is not something I have any experience with my parents have been married for 53yrs and Tim and I have been married coming up to 29yrs this year.
ReplyDeleteSee, my kids are ingrates. I did the sprinkler thing with them and they still complain about it. I mean sure it was February, but still...
ReplyDelete;)
You really seem to have fun with your children. I wish all parents could have good times like you have with their children.
ReplyDeleteWait, WAH???? I'm so sorry darlin', but I can say that I've been there. If you need me you know where to find me. I'm like the pioneer of divorce. *sigh* My kids made it through just fine, just follow your gut and know that it's okay to be honest with them as long as it's not hurtful (about their dad)
ReplyDeleteMelynda has my number. :) -J
Maybe I've missed a few of your blogposts recently, but that's one heckuva big piece of news you dropped here. It's super-hard what you're about to embark on, but it can be done with grace and I'm sure that you will succeed.
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like pure fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Ruby didn't push you over a cliff. I bet running through the sprinklers was fun.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Your Mother From Another Planet
At our last anniversary, someone asked about if I ever thought about divorce. I said, "How many times...in an hour...in a day...in a week?"
ReplyDeleteStay strong, and reach out for help when you need it. Your children are lucky to have a mother such as you.
You're one-of-a-kind Momma! Divorce is very stressful but your positivity can help your kids recover from the pain. I know how it feels without my dad, but my mom never failed to make me feel loved. I hope you do the same to your kids.

You and your kids are so TOGETHER. A unit, I have always felt this, long before this happened in your lives. You will be OK, there is no other way.
